Director of Operations/Chief Pilot at Safety in Motion Flight Center, Shawn Pratt discovered his passion for aviation growing up in Sitka, Alaska, where he first experienced the freedom of flight exploring the region in small aircraft. His extensive experience spans multiple mountain ranges, including the Appalachian, Rocky, Cascade, Olympic, and Sierra mountains, where he has developed expertise in navigating challenging terrain and weather conditions. As an ATP, CFI Gold Seal, and AGI certificate holder, Shawn manages two flight schools and FBOs while also working as a charter and corporate pilot. Drawing from this comprehensive background, he specializes in mountain flying operations, sharing essential knowledge about mountain meteorology, aircraft performance, route selection, and emergency procedures specific to Pacific Northwest terrain.
