Our Training Fleet

Learn About our Planes

Safety in Motion Flight Center operates a fleet of aircraft of both single-engine and multi-engine airplanes. The Flight School additionally has a full-motion Redbird FMX Advanced Aviation Training Device, which is incorporated in the flight training courses.

All the airplanes are very well maintained by our own maintenance department and additionally receive inspections every 50-hours, which is more stringent than FAA requirements for commercial operators.  Additionally, airplanes are standardized with communication and navigation radios (avionics) with state-of-the-art GPS/Navigator systems, ADS-B In/Out Datalink, and Bluetooth connectivity, providing pilots with uplinked traffic and weather to their iPad/Tablet electronic flight bags. In short, the fleet is all-weather capable and can easily support all your flight training needs while ensuring the maximum amount of situational awareness and safety - ranging from Sport Pilot to Airline Transport Pilot!

Most of these same airplanes are available for rental. Multi-day rentals are possible and contingent upon scheduling availability since their use in flight training is the priority.

For those that plan to fly with us quite a bit, Safety in Motion offers PNW Mountain Flight Club. After paying an initiation membership and monthly sustaining fee, aircraft rental rates can be reduced by as much as $10/hr. Any flights in excess of about 3 per month, and you’re saving money! Piper PA-28R-180 "Arrow"

The Arrow may be a good choice for a pilot with little complex aircraft experience. It was designed to be an easy step up for pilots transitioning from a trainer to a single with retractable landing gear and controllable-pitch propeller. The primary reason is that the Arrow is a simple complex airplane that is fun to fly! It has the same predictable handling as the Cherokee line of singles in which many pilots have learned to fly in, but it's a little faster and sexier, thanks to its retractable gear and constant speed propeller. We have one in our fleet available for rental and used for training for the commercial pilot and flight instructor certificates.

  • Cruise Speed:  140 knots

  • Engine: Lycoming O-180

As an instrument flying platform, the Seminole is exemplary and has a Bendix King KSN 770 GPS/MFD/FMS installed as primary avionics. Thanks to the T-tail there's little in the way of pitch changes and re-trimming requirements with configuration changes.
