Safety in Motion Flight Center’s Maintenance Division is located at the Pierce County/Thun Field air-port (KPLU). Our main maintenance hanger is located on the west side of the airport, just south of midfield in the old “Talon Hangar”.
Our mechanics possess numerous years of diverse maintenance experience working on aircraft ranging from small tailwheel airplanes to multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft, radial engines, warbirds, and fabric recovering/repair.

Communication is Key
After discussing the service to be provided, a work-order will be generated and entered into our online maintenance system. You will be able to coordinate with our maintenance team via our online maintenance system to approve work from a list of any noted discrepancies, and track the progress of the repair or service.
Commitment to Service
Maintenance customers can subscribe to our maintenance program, where we will track your maintenance items and notify you when it’s time to schedule service and/or inspections.

Although our maintenance division has recently be-came available to the public, our maintenance team is anything but new to the industry. The team’s com-bined experience well exceeds over 100 years, and ranges from Piper Cubs to King Airs, PBYs to F-14s, and operations in support of flight schools, Part 135 air freight, and airlines. We have senior pilots on staff with experience in numerous types of aircraft that work with our maintenance team to pick-up and deliver aircraft for customers if needed.
