Aviation History

Gene Endsley learned to fly in 1952 at Port Orchard Airport near Bremerton. Gene has made his life in aviation. He holds the Airline Transport Pilot ticket, and type ratings for a DC-3, B-727, DC8 and Lear jet. He also holds seaplane and glider ratings.

Goals & Accomplishments

Gene has a passion for vintage aviation, both flying and restoring the older aircraft. Among his most memorable aviation experiences is a flight he made with his son across country in their Piper Pacer, traveling low and slow over the heartland of America staying in small towns and meeting lots and lots of people.

Interests & Hobbies

When he’s not flying or a restoring an airplane, Gene enjoys camping, hiking, fishing and reading history.
